- Consider any special interests that you might want to showcase, such as a hobby or sport. Is there a certain setting or prop that you'd like to capture in the portrait?
- Take advantage of your photo shoot and add variety with wardrobe changes. Not sure of what to bring or how to coordinate outfits? A wardrobe coordinator can be provided for your consultation. A portable changing tent will be available for wardrobe changes.
- Apply a normal amount of makeup like you would do for an any-old-day-of-the-week day. Nothing extra is necessary (see Philosophy). Also, keep your wardrobe in mind while selecting nail polish color.
- Use a little hair spray or product to control fly aways or staticky hair (unless we're trying to capture wispy hair in the photo!). Bring products and brush or comb to refresh your hair as needed.
- Getting a haircut or considering a new style? Give yourself at least a week or more before to get used to the new style and for it to lay more naturally.
- Practice your poses ahead of time in front of a mirror. Consider how a slight tilt of the head might enhance one of your features and so on. While it may feel a bit silly, trust that it will make a difference.
- And relax, relax, relax. Have fun and get ready to smile.
